Multi Logistics Group and D. Buermans open terminal in Meerhout

Crane company D.Buermans and Multi Logistics Group reinforce their joint vision to promote multimodal transport with the launch of Ship Handling Terminal Meerhout.

Located along the Albert Canal, near the E313 motorway, this terminal offers a logistics solution for companies active in various industries, especially those dealing with bulk and break bulk goods, such as gravel and sand extraction, concrete production, earthmoving, road construction, and other sectors in need of storage space.

The terminal, with a 200-metre-long quay wall and a draft of 3.4 metres, is strategically positioned for optimal connection to 7 Kempen canals, among others. The available 50,000 square metres of storage space for both bulk and general cargo offers various possibilities for companies looking to optimise their logistics, such as goods consolidation, emergency stockpiling, or simply for lack of space.

"Often, 1 large delivery is more economically/operationally interesting than multiple small deliveries. Whether for emergency stock, consolidation or temporary storage, we have the expertise and infrastructure to make the distribution of goods efficient."

45 years of expertise and knowledge

A modern fleet of machinery, including cranes, grabs, wheel loaders, dumpers, bobcats and trucks, ensures smooth and quality handling of goods. This is backed up by more than 45 years of expertise and knowledge, making Ship Handling Terminal Meerhout a total solution for various logistics needs.

Our highly valued partner, Crane Company D.Buermans, which has specialised in the loading, unloading and storage of bulk and general cargo since 1977, brings its extensive experience and modern machinery to the terminal. Multi Logistics Group, co-shareholder in several logistics companies, adds valuable expertise and strategic support to the project.

Seventh terminal

"SHTM is the 7th strategic site in the MLG network, enabling companies to find solutions to their logistics problems at several sites," says Johannes Lagasse, co-CEO of MLG. "We are also currently looking at sites in the Walloon region.

With sites in Ghent, Brussels, Roeselare, Willebroek, Zolder and Hautrage, the partners offer a total of 240,000 m² of storage space, 1,660 metres of private quay and a transhipment capacity of 20 million tonnes a year.
